Excalibur is the sword of King Arthur, legend has magical powers and gives him the right to rule England. Sometimes Excalibur and the Sword in the Stone (the proof of Arthur's descendants) are considered as the same weapon, but in most versions they are considered different. In the language of Wales is named Caledfwlch sword.
Excalibur name derived from the ancient French Excalibor, which comes from the Latin Caliburnus. In Arthurian legend, there are two stories about the origin of this sword. The first is the legendary "Sword in the Stone", first appeared in the poetry of Robert de Boron Merlin, in which Excalibur can only be drawn from the stone by a person who has the right to be king, namely Arthur. In the second version, which appeared in the Suite du Merlin, Arthur receives Excalibur from the Lady of the Lake after his first sword broken in battle against King Pellinore.

Arthur get the throne or the power to pull the sword from the stone. In this context, the act of unplugging the sword can not be done by anyone except by "the true king," meaning king or true heir Uther Pendragon. Then the sword Excalibur was ever damaged / broken in two in the utilization by Arthur. In the Vulgate Mort Artu, Arthur told Girflet (warrior bodyguard) threw the sword into the lake "hooked".

Excalibur Sword is truly fierce because it is said to divide anything including steel. It's a pity because the sword Excalibur has simply been a legend and there is no certainty in the existence of such extraordinary sword.
